When the Quran uses such terms as “the Word of God” in reference to Yasua al-masih (not to be confused with the “Isa” of the Qur’an) do they know what the scriptures affirm concerning this term? When the Bible affirms Christ as the Word of God .. what did this mean to the first century hearers?
Here a Shia Muslim himself concedes that the “Isa” of the Qur’an is to be differentiated from the “Jesus” of the Bible.
“Isa” is the Qur’anic Arabic name for Jesus and the pre- Qur’anic name is “Yasu” or “Yasua” as it is “Y’shua” in Jesus native Hebrew language. If your name is Joshua, (English for Jesus), and you wished to introduce yourself to an Arabic speaker, you would say “Ana Yasua” (أنا يسوع) you would not say “Ana Isa” (أنا عيسی). Joshua the son of Nun is called “Yasua ibn Nun” NOT “Isa ibn Nun.” The Qur’an chose such terms deliberately, to subtly convey this revised history of Jesus, including the name he was known by when he returned to India after faking his death on the cross. – ShiaChat.com 12-Jun-2004 (red text IS NOT in the original quote and has been added by me)
Here is this same original citation as an image in case unicode support is not working so you may see the actual arabic script.

Let’s dig deeper into the Tawrat (Torah), Inbiyat (prophets), Zabur (psalms), and the Injil (gospels) – which the Quran surprisingly affirm today as all being God’s WORD without corruption.
In fact, all muslims are encouraged to read these. Perhaps, in the light of it they will come to see the man-made amalgamation that is the Quran and be born from above of the unadulterated WORD of God who lives and abides forever. Is the “Isa” of the Qur’an the same person as Yeshua haMashiach or Jesus Christ (the Messiah)?

The Quran affirms the Bible as not corrupted. The Bible reveals the God of the Bible. The Quran reveals another god. The Bible reveals the tests of a true prophet. Muhammad reveals and leads men after another god. According to the Bible’s test therefore, Muhammad is a false prophet.
You see, the Quran affirms the Bible and the Bible refutes the Quran. The Quran contains ONLY truth that is already in the Bible. The Quran, in addition contains an abundance of error and falsehood. The Bible is divinely inspired and the inerrant Word of God. The Quran is not. Any truth the Quran contains is from the Bible, the rest are the commentaries, recollections, and teachings of men.

The God of the Bible vs Allah of the Quran
Yasua Al- Masih chose twelve emissaries (apostles) to establish his body in the earth. There IS a faith that was once delivered. There is no new gospel, no new teaching, no new revelation, and there are no new apostles.
For a muslim, this will be hard to swallow, but I would challenge you to ask yourself a few questions. Does truth matter ? Who will you serve? He who is true God and eternal life? Or will you be counted among the children of pride and be among the companions of everlasting fire? The choice is yours.
I plead with you choose life and submit yourselves to the Holy and Righteous one, Jesus Christ – who IS the LORD from heaven, and the ransom for all men. Will you repent and believe on Him and faithfully endure to the end? He has promised us eternal life with Him and more…
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” – I Cor. 2:9
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” – John 1:1-3 ; John 1:14
